Summer has a wonderful way of making people more sociable. We stay out later, accept invitations we’d normally decline, and find ourselves talking more openly to people we wouldn’t normally meet.

We’re gathering at the beautiful Bar at 12 Hay Hill, one of Mayfair’s most elegant private members’ clubs, for an evening of relaxed introductions, excellent cocktails and a room full of interesting single people.

Tucked away in the heart of Mayfair, 12 Hay Hill is one of those places that feels as though you’ve stumbled upon a secret. Having survived both a fire and the Blitz, it now offers warm lighting, gleaming marble, stylish interiors and a private terrace perfect for summer evenings.

On arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a Tidal Rum cocktail. This is not the sort of rum that arrives in a novelty glass with a paper umbrella. It’s a golden Caribbean blend, finished in Jersey with rare coastal botanicals gathered on full moon tides. Slightly smoky, quietly sophisticated and exceptional taste-wise.
