Viva Chelsea! – Dinner Amongst the Decidedly Different

Viva Chelsea! – Dinner Amongst the Decidedly Different

Seated dinner · 20s & 30s · 22 guests · Private dining room, Chelsea

Twenty-two people, all there to meet someone new, one beautifully private dining room and a table that could be effortlessly rearranged between courses, exactly what you want when the aim is to encourage new conversations.

There was our own private bar for the welcome, where a classic Margarita proved a very effective way to take the edge off those first-meeting nerves, before Manuel gave the table a wonderfully authentic introduction to the ethos and spirit of the restaurant.

Then dinner began with guacamole, pico de gallo and totopos to start, followed by yellowfin tuna tostadas, Ensenada tacos and smoky adobo short rib with pineapple salsa. Crispy potatoes and a fresh radicchio and pear salad accompanied the main, before tres leches cake, cinnamon custard and strawberries, cleverly served to share between two.

The room did what a good Rendezvous x Maclynn dinner should: made it easy to move, mingle and discover who you hadn’t quite finished talking to.

And by the end of the evening, there were plenty of decidedly interesting conversations still going.
