Summer Lightning at Bentley’s

Bentley’s beckons. The place of claret-coloured banquettes, iconic shiny bars and of course oysters.  This restaurant has been a staple on the London restaurant scene since it opened its doors in 1916. Celebrated and down-to-earth chef Richard Corrigan took over the reins in 2005 and restored it to its classy seafood glory. Creative outdoor spaces have become standard during Covid times and Bentleys nestles warmly in a snug pedestrianized street between Regent Street and Piccadilly.

Umbrellas, champagne, and oysters anyone?

You can’t help to feel a bit fancy-old-school stepping into Bentleys, so much so, we were reminded of being in a PG Wodehouse novel.  It could easily be the setting for ‘Summer Lightning’ – with its tale of the complex love affairs of the fabulous Ronnie Fish; the book itself the very definition of British good humour.

Rendezvous is rather partial to creating the backdrop for a complex love affair or two.  Come and join us – in our own private room, with its own private bar and you guessed it – own private entrance!
