The Rosé Experience at 28-50 Party
28:50 Oxford Circus | Market Place | 4 Great Portland Street | W1W 8QJ
Tuesday 24th May
What a wonderful way to spend a warm spring evening, in 28-50’s latest gorgeous restaurant enjoying our sensational Rosé Experience. The room came alive with Rendezvous guests in our private area at the end of this vibrant bar. So many familiar and new faces having fun enjoying a lively trio of Rosés.
Thank you to Mike Guthrie, sommelier extraordinaire, for running our ‘Rendezvous Rosé wine tasting’. From his place high on a chair, conducting our noisy crowd, he navigated us through three very different wines, each paired perfectly with an exquisite canape.
AIX is a well-balanced premium Provence rosé with a typical hypnotising salmon pink colour. Made with love, passion and pride, AIX Rosé is elegant, generous, and delicious and it was an excellent match for the smoked salmon and mustard yoghurt canapes.
Pratsch Rosé from Austria was a popular delish berry-centred fruit bomb! The first sip displays a mouth-watering acidity, and intense sweet dark fruit flavours linger on the tongue. This wine’s light, easy-going nature makes it ideal for serving as an aperitif before dinner or sipping on a hot summer’s afternoon and was sensationally superb with the munchable balls of truffle arancini.
Chateau Musar makes a more serious Rosé than most, with a focus on flavour and fruit purity. The nose speaks of quality and the palate is dry and refreshing, with whiffs of ripe raspberry and strawberry. Very food-friendly, this wine was perfectly paired with the Parma ham and fig canape.
As the evening was winding up, we collected your colourful answers to the wine quiz and drew the prize out of a champagne bucket (of course we did). A bottle of Chateau Musar was won by a keen listening quiz winner, who generously opened and shared it. All the party goers received a discount card to use on the night or at any of the 28:50 venues – how lucky we are!!
What a buzzy and fantastic evening we had for our first event at 28-50’s newest venue. We certainly polished off many glistening pink bottles. Thank you to 28:50’s outstanding team Jessica, Mike, Aldo and Ruben. We all felt privileged to be included in your launch activities.
Some Lovely Feedback –
Dear Barbara,
Thank you so much for a lovely evening yesterday tasting rose – it was fabulous, and I had a wonderful time, meeting such nice people as ever, new and old faces both. Thank you for all your organisation – I know there is so much work behind the scenes for these events – I think I probably speak for everyone when I say we are so appreciative.
Looking forward to the next one,
with love, M x
Hi Barbara,
Another lovely party, thank you! Interestingly it was much easier to meet and chat to people because it was in a smaller space than usual. Another plus point was that the acoustics were good and there was no problem hearing what people were saying.
It was a fun evening with a good mix of lively, interesting people.
Look forward to the next one!
